🎓 Eligibility
Nationality
For IAS / IPS: Must be a citizen of India
For IFS (Indian Forest Service): Must be a citizen of India
2. Age Limit
Minimum age: 21 years
Maximum age: 32 years (for General category)
Age is calculated as per the UPSC notification rules (usually as of 1st August of the exam year)
Age Relaxation:
OBC: 3 years
SC/ST: 5 years
PwBD: up to 10 years
Ex-servicemen: as per government rules
3. Educational Qualification
Must hold a Bachelor’s Degree (Graduation) from a recognized university
Final year students can also apply (if they complete degree before Mains stage as per UPSC rules)
4. Number of Attempts
General: 6 attempts
OBC: 9 attempts
SC/ST: No limit (within age limit)
PwBD: varies by category
5. Physical Standards (Important for IPS & IFS)
Candidates must meet physical fitness standards prescribed by UPSC
Required mainly for IPS and Indian Forest Service (IFoS) posts
6. Other Conditions
Candidates must be medically fit as per service requirements
No prior criminal disqualification or bar from government service

Step 3: Login & Fill Application Form
Login using OTR credentials
Select “Civil Services (Prelims) 2026”

Educational qualification
Address details
Category (General/OBC/SC/ST/EWS)
Step 4: Upload Documents
Upload scanned copies of:
Passport-size photograph
Signature
Photo ID (Aadhaar/PAN/Passport/Voter ID)
Category certificate (if applicable)
Step 5: Exam Centre Selection
Choose your preferred exam centres carefully
Once submitted, changes are usually not allowed
Step 6: Fee Payment
Pay application fee online (if applicable)
SC/ST/PwBD/Female candidates are generally exempted
Step 7: Final Submission
Review all details carefully
